شهدت مصر تعدداً كبيراً في الرموز المقدسة وكان منها ساق الثور الأمامية التي أخذت حظاً وافراً من الظهور في مناظر القرابين وفي مناظر الشعائر ولاسيما في الدولة الحديثة، حيث أضيفت إليها خصائص جديدة لم تختص بها من قبل. ويعزى سبب هذه الخصائص إلى ارتباطها؛ المباشر بالإله "ست"، والغير مباشر بالإله "أوزير"، وهذا الارتباط أشير إليه في أحداث الأسطورة الأوزيرية المتأخرة نسبياً، والتي كان بعض أحداثها إنعكاسأً لدورة الأرض الزراعية.Egypt witnessed a large number of sacred symbols, including the front leg of the bull, which took an ample chance of appearing in the scenes of offerings and in the scenes of rituals, especially in the New kingdom, where new characteristics were added to it that were not characterized by it before, and the reason for these characteristics is attributed to their connection; Directly with the god "Set" and indirectly with the god "Osiris".
